Xiangjianhuan Theme:
Spring's rosy color fades from forest flowers.
Too soon, too soon.
How can they bear cold morning showers.
And winds at noon!
Your rouged tears like crimson rain.
Intoxicate my heart.
When shall we meet again?
As water eastward flows, so painful life passes to its bitter end.
Why this poetry?
I had been requested to have a nucleic acid test in my compound this morning. During my way to the test, I crossed the garden and suddenly found all spring flowers have wilted. Oh, spring has gone. Then this poetry is coming to my head. The writer was a king 1200 years ago. When he wrote this poetry, we had lost his kingdom, his wife and the freedom. It was the ending of spring, he became a prisoner.
Time is the ending of spring again. I found all the griefs could be shared. If you ask when is the ending? The reply should be "painful life passes to its bitter end."
Some information about "Song Ci".
Ci in the Song Dynasty indicates another type of poetry at that time. It came into being in the Tang Dynasty and reached its summit in the Song literature. This type of poem is akin to lyrics created for musical accompaniment as the meter varies in the way that the words had to match the rhythm of the music.
